‘Shuffle’ a Sci-Fi Film by Director of ‘Dear Zachary’

If you haven’t seen the documentary ‘Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father’, you’re missing out on one of the most devastatingly emotional documentaries ever. ‘Shuffle’ switches gears and is a science fiction film about “a man who has no idea why he keeps waking up at different points in his life”.

“Using clues from each experience, he begins to piece together why this keeps happening to him and sets out to end it once and for all”. The premise is interesting, but I’m most excited to see how Kurt Kuenne, the director, (known for documentaries) handles a science fiction film. Check out the trailer below.

The time-traveling aspect is reminiscent of films like ‘Primer’ and ‘Memento’. Based on the trailer, the film’s success will largely depend on how Kurt Kuenne handles the emotional and psychological aspects of the story. WCD will be keeping an eye on this film.
