Google’s Self-Driving Car

This project is something that continues to impress me. As of March 2012, the Google Car has driven over 200,000 miles without any malfunctions.

There was one accident involving a Google Car last year, but Google claims it occurred while a human was operating the vehicle. Other than that, it seems the technology is progressing fast enough that people could possibly sleep on their way to work within the next 15-20 years. One of the biggest hurdles will be determining who is liable in crashes and other situations.
