Are Parallel Universes Responsible For Déjà Vu?

Theoretical physicist, Michio Kaku, talks about déjà vu and parallel universes.

Déjà vu (which translates to “already seen”) is a common phenomenon that nearly everyone has experienced. Yet nobody has nailed down an explanation of why it happens.

Over time déjà vu has been linked to mental disorders, drugs, memory, reincarnation, and many other things. However, there has never been any proof or well-established theory. The theory that déjà vu is based on fragments of older memories that create similar sensations, is probably the most popular one.

A newer theory suggests that déjà vu is the result of the overlapping of parallel universes. Michio Kaku explains this idea.

Michio Kaku doesn’t think this explanation is likely to be the case, but it’s possible and interesting nonetheless. What do you think causes déjà vu?
